Venues, halls and events
Model your physical space as a venue with one or more halls, then run dated events in it with live seat availability and a from price.
Events mode is available from version 1.3.0. Choose Events or Both in the setup wizard, or enable it later from Settings.
Venues
A venue is a place: a studio, a community centre, a theatre. Create one under Schedopia → Venues. A venue holds one or more halls.
Halls
A hall is a room with a fixed seat layout. Each hall has its own seat map, drawn in the seat planner. Create as many halls as the venue has rooms, for example Main Hall and Studio 2.
Events
An event is a dated session in a hall: Sound Bath and Deep Rest, Tuesday 1 September, 7:00 pm, Main Hall. Create it under Schedopia → Events and set:
- Name and description.
- Date and time, plus duration.
- Venue and hall.
- Pricing per tier, or leave the hall’s defaults.
Multi-hall events
An event can use more than one hall. This is useful when the first hall sells out and you open an overflow room, or when a session is streamed to a second space. Customers switch between halls in the seat map and see availability for each.
What customers see
The event form ([schedopia_booking mode="event"]) lists upcoming sessions with:
- Date and time.
- Venue and hall.
- Duration.
- Seats left, updated live.
- A from price, the lowest tier price for that event.
Selecting a session opens the seat map. From there the flow is the same as appointments: pick seats, enter details, confirm.
Seats are never sold twice
Seat reservations are validated against seats already taken, inside a database transaction, exactly like appointment slots. If two customers pick the same seat at the same moment, only one reservation is written. See the double-booking guard.
